Our Mission

The Community Foundation of Greater Jackson is a nonprofit, community corporation created by and for the people of Hinds, Madison and Rankin counties in Mississippi. We help charitable donors establish permanent giving funds that reflect individual philanthropic interests while also making a long-term, positive impact on our community. And we serve our nonprofit partners by managing and growing their endowments.

In other words, we connect people who give with needs that matter.

What Is A Community Foundation?

A community foundation is a financial institution dedicated to the development of a community. In our case, the Community is Hinds, Madison, and Rankin Counties.

•   We serve those who create charitable funds by providing flexible and tax-efficient methods to contribute to organizations they love.

•   Local nonprofits whose endowments we hold are our Partners. We strengthen them by holding and growing their endowments, supporting their mission and goals, and recognizing and publicizing their needs. Their success is our success.

•   We support the communities we serve by making known critical needs and by sponsoring important development initiatives.
